Classic Car Classifieds Help You Find That Special Car
Before I ever got around to actually buying a car, I spent months looking through the classic car classifieds. It started off as a vague plan. I never really envisioned that I would one day own an antique car, but I did daydream about it a lot. I thought about what my dream car would be. Would I own a muscle car? Some exotic import? Or maybe ditch it all and get an old Harley roadster?
The pages of the classic cars classifieds were certainly tantalizing for a day dreamer like me. There are classic cars classifieds all over the country, but I live in a particularly good market for old automobiles. I guess it is inevitable in the motor city. Although the winter salt often does a lot of wear and tear on old cars, the car culture just won't quit. People love buying, selling, souping up, and restoring classic automobiles. The classic car classifieds are two or three times as big as those in comparable cities.
Living in Michigan really informed my decisions about classical cars. I wanted something that I could drive in the winter as well as in the summer. I love old Trans Am's, and I see them on the streets all the time, but they don't do very well with the salt on the roads in the winter . Eventually, their bodies get holes in them, and those holes don't look good. That is why classic Corvettes are so popular in Detroit. Their bodies are made out of fiberglass, so they won't rust. Unless you get into a big crash, their appearances will stay pristine year after year forever.
I finally found an old Shelby Corvette in a classic car classified. It was pretty expensive, and not in very good shape. If I had bought one that was pristine, it would have cost even more, and I only had so much money to spend on my hobby. Fortunately, the classic car classifieds had enough choices that I was able to find something that was adequate for my needs. It was definitely a fixer upper, and It took me all winter to rebuild it. I spent hour after hour, day after day, painstakingly restoring the car. It was almost like a love affair! By the time I was done, however, it was worth it. It looked spectacular. I had never had a vehicle in such great condition before. I swear, it couldn't have looked better new!
